Asian Spirit goes international

19 May 2006
BY RUBY GONZALEZ

Asian Spirit marked its 10th anniversary by inaugurating in April its thrice a week Manila – Palau service via Davao.

It is its first foray into international aviation. Management has expressed bullishness that the relatively short distance between Palau and Davao will facilitate the promotion of tourism between the two areas.

The new connection is good news for diving aficionado. Palau and the Philippines have been identified as having the world’s second and third best dive spots, respectively.

The inaugural flight from Davao used a new 100-seat BAE 146 jet. In 1996 it launched operations with a Manila – Boracay service using a 50-seater De Havilland Dash.

Asian Spirit currently services 21 destinations the all over the country with Boracay as its most profitable route.

Management has plans to service Palau out of Cebu.
