KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia's Reliance Pacific Bhd yesterday launched its new online shop, Malaysia World (www.malaysiaworld.com.my ), filled with a large choice of travel packages.
The company expects to rake in a revenue of about RM40 million (US$11.5 million) for its financial year ending March 31, 2008 from sales of 30,000 packages on Malaysia World, said Reliance's group chief executive officer Datin Irene Gan.
The new online portal was specially designed to promote Malaysia as a preferred tourist destination and timely for the current Visit Malaysia Year campaign, she added.
Malaysia World is offering about 300 travel products in the initial stage, which will be increased to 1,000 by end 2008.
