CEBU CITY, September 6, 2007 --The market-focused seminars introduced for the first time at the Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX) received good feedback from sellers.
The seminars were conducted yesterday by the Department of Tourism's executives and overseas representatives to familiarise sellers with the characteristics, demands, requirements as well as challenges for markets such as France, Eastern Europe, China, US/ Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea
“It bridges the cultural gap. For a seller like us, it gives us a better understanding of the market,” said Stephen Ku, DOSM of The Tides in Boracay. He is keen in developing his share of the Hong Kong market. “It gives us the edge in how to attract them in our property.”
PHITEX one-on-one buyer-seller meetings commenced today. There are 109 overseas buyers and 147 sellers.
