GOLD COAST – Australia’s theme parks, Dreamworld and WhiteWater World, have doubled their Mandarin speaking guest services team in anticipation of the rapid growth in visitors from China. The team now comprises of six international staff hailing from China, Singapore and
Vietnam.
Dreamworld's international sales manager, Erin Rolfe said the Chinese market had gained so much momentum that it surpassed Japan in the 2006-2007 financial year to become Dreamworld's largest international source market after New Zealand. Taiwan trails close behind in third place.
"China is a critical market for us and there is still enormous potential for growth. Our CEO Stephen Gregg, visited the market in July this year and instantly saw the importance of having an expanded team to ensure our Chinese guests have the best possible experience in park." she said.”
Dreamworld's three new guest services recruits include Shanghai-born Lin Zhou and Singaporean born Janice Soh and Meng Tze. They join Cecilia,Goh from Singapore, Debbie Wong from Malaysia and Chi Ngo from Vietnam.
Ngo, a Dreamworld team member for the past two years, said she has met tens of thousands of Chinese travelers and believes Dreamworld is the best place in Queensland for a great Australian experience.
"The number one thing our visitors from China should do is to visit the Australian Wildlife Experience and cuddle a koala. There are only three places in Queensland where you can do this, and only two states in Australia. So it's a rare treat. And they can take home a photo for long term memories." |
