Shangri-La to open Boracay property in 2008

Daily news, 27 Nov 2007
Arlene D. Foz

MANILA - Shangri-La Hotels enhances its dominance as the leading luxury hotel group in the Philippines via the Shangri-La Boracay Resort & CHI Spa slated to open towards the last quarter of 2008.

The 174-room hotel will be the fifth property and the third five-star deluxe hotel under the Shangri-la brand in the country.

Resident manager, Maggie Garcia, said the property’s rooms and nine suites will be spread in two four-storey buildings with 36 villas, 25 of which will have outdoor plunge pool, showers, whirlpool, pergola for al fresco dining and day bed for massage and relaxation.

Catering to both leisure and corporate markets, it will have a 400 sq. m. ballroom and 250 sq. m. divisible function rooms.

Aside from its seven specialty restaurants, the hotel's CHI Spa, specializing in Chinese and Himalayan wellness treatments, are expected to draw visitors from all over.
