GIBTM’s hosted buyer programme heats up

Breaking news, 17 Jan 2008
By Ruby Gonzalez

ABU DHABI –The hosted buyer programme of the 2nd Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM) has been getting very good response from the market.

While only over 275 buyers are expected to be hosted, 700 from 68 different countries have already registered for the programme, said Paul Kennedy, Group Exhibition Director, Reed Travel Exhibitions’ Meetings and Incentive Events. They will be screened under a “strict qualifying process”.

The number of hosted buyers will be equally divided among three source markets, namely the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

This year’s GIBTM will likewise be bigger in terms of exhibitors and new features.

There is an increase in the number of regional and international meetings and incentive suppliers representing the Gulf region, South and South-east Asia, Europe, North Africa and other parts of the world.

GIBTM, which will be held from April 8 to 10 at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is a partnership between Reed Travel Exhibition and the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
