AIME exhibitors reach new heights to engage and entertain

Daily news, 11 Feb 2008

MELBOURNE – Crocodiles, pirates, a Showgirl direct from Las Vegas, one of Australia's leading female vocalists and a range of prizes valued up to $5,200 are just some of the unique attractions and entertainment on offer at the Asia-Pacific Incentive & Meetings Expo (AIME) 2008 in Melbourne next week.

"This year we're seeing a real influx of new exhibitors and a wider range of exhibiting companies. We've also noticed that this year exhibitors themselves are going to new heights to entertain and engage visitors," said AIME event director Rosemarie Sama.

Capricorn the crocodile will be greeting visitors to the Capricorn Tourism stand. Used as the organisation's mascot, the croc is from a working croc farm on the Capricorn Coast near Rockhampton in central Queensland.

On the Las Vegas stand, a Las Vegas Showgirl is being flown in especially for the event and will be handing out game cards for a draw to win a $500 prize.

From Queensland, Tall Ship Sailing Cruises will have a roving pirate on its stand and is running a competition for a trip for two to the Gold Coast.

Novotel Melbourne St Kilda is running a promotion for a trip for two people to Mt Buller for five nights at the Mt Buller Grand Chalet with ski passes and lessons included, valued at more than $5,200.

The Melbourne booth will offer samples of local cuisine and regional wines while Sydney has unveiled plans for an exclusive cocktail party featuring Australian singer Deni Hines.

Fresh from her latest national tour, Hines will perform on the Sydney stand at an invitation-only event.

AIME 2008 will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on February 19 and 20. AIME is organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions. For further information visit: www.aime.com.au.
