ACTE names new Asia-Pacific chair

Daily news, 24 Mar 2008

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia – The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has named Georgie Farmer, Asia-Pacific travel services manager, Microsoft Corporation, as its new regional chair for the Asia-Pacific region. Farmer directs the company's corporate travel category in one of the fastest growing international regions of the world.

Farmer assumes the ACTE leadership role from Mike Bezer, VP global sales Asia-Pacific, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, who served two full terms as chair. Part of her focus will be to increase participation in ACTE educational and professional development initiatives among those in the Asia-Pacific corporate travel industry, while bringing to the forefront those issues which are of keen interest to both buyers and suppliers.

Farmer is an active member of ACTE, having spoken at the 2007 Asia-Pacific Education Conference and Executive Forums. She also served as a member of the 2006 Asia-Pacific Education Conference's steering committee.

She holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship.
