Accor strengthens Vietnam presence

Daily news, 27 Mar 2008

PARIS – Accor is set to launch three Pullman and two Mercure hotels in Vietnam. Accor has also officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City, the first full representative office of an international hotel operator in the Southeast Asian country. The new office will support and drive the growth of the Accor hotels network from its existing eight hotels to at least twenty hotels by the end of 2010.

Two of the three Pullman hotels to be developed in Vietnam will be located in the country’s northern Lao Cai region while the third will be in Vung Tau. The 200-room Pullman Lao Cai will open in 2011 while the 150-room Pullman Sapa Resort and the 360-room Pullman Vung Tau will both open in 2010. The three hotels will be the first internationally branded hotels in two of Vietnam's rapidly growing tourist regions.

In a major push to support the development of tourism infrastructure in Vietnam, Accor also announced that it will develop two Mercure hotels in Hanoi. The 102-room Mercure Hanoi La Gare 9opening in 2009) and the 380-room Mercure Hanoi Hado will be the first Mercure hotels in Vietnam and the start of a planned development of up to twenty Mercure hotels throughout the country.
