BANGKOK – Best Western (BW) is starting the construction of the BW Hotel Newcity Kagoshima in the Yojiro district of Kagoshima City in Japan this month with plans for a soft opening in July 2009 and grand opening by October 2009. The new hotel will be the second BW accommodation in the Kyushu islands.
The 14-floor, 146-room BW Hotel Newcity Kagoshima is set in a quiet residential area of Kagoshima-city nearby public institutions such as the prefectural office and the people's culture hall.
Kagoshima, the administrative, economic, and cultural center of Kagoshima Prefecture, is a castle town dating back to the 14th century. Kagoshima and its suburbs are located in the northeastern part of the Satsuma-hanto Peninsula, and face Kagoshima Bay, which is also called Kinko Bay.
