GIBTM 2008 to debut ambassador programme

Daily news, 03 Apr 2008

LONDON – The Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibtion (GIBTM), in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and NCC-Net Group, has unveiled the details of its new Ambassador Programme, as part of Reed Travel Exhibitions dedication to driving the recognition of the meetings profession. This new initiative will provide industry protocol training for 22 Emirati students who will act as Ambassadors Abu Dhabi and GIBTM. They will be based at the GIBTM Welcome Desks at the official hotels to assist with the greeting and orientation of international Hosted Buyers and participants arriving for the event.

The student Ambassadors are from Zayed University, one of the major tertiary education providers in the United Arab Emirates, predominantly for UAE National women.

Comprehensive training will take place prior to GIBTM to include customer services and other relevant skills for the students’ professional development and to enable them to provide an efficient and friendly service during the event. In recognition of their achievements a ceremony will be held at ADNEC, at the end of GIBTM on Wednesday April 9, at 14.30 to 15.30 in Capital Suite 1 to present the Ambassadors with a GIBTM Certificate.

GIBTM takes place at ADNEC, from April 8-10, 2008 at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi.
