ABU DHABI – The meetings and event market in the Gulf/ Middle East region points to a “very position outlook”, according to the Second Middle East Meetings Industry Research Report 2008, an initiative of the Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM) in association with regional publication meetme.
Buyers from 52 countries and suppliers in 42 countries participated in the survey, which was conducted between January and February 2008.
The survey focused on topics such as destinations used for events during the last 12 months; types of events held in the Middle East; duration of events; average number of attendees; total annual spend on business events; and top 10 most important influencing factors considered when placing an event in the Gulf/ Middle East.
