ABU DHABI – The second staging of the Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition kicked off in this city yesterday with better statistics compared to last year.
There are 250 exhibitors, 220 hosted buyers and 5,000 pre-scheduled appointments, said Paul Kennedy, Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) group exhibition director, Meetings & Incentive Events. RTE is the show organiser.
The number of exhibitors this year increased by 23 percent while the number of pre-scheduled appointments increased by more than 66 percent.
Kennedy didn’t cite the figures for the total number of attendance, explaining they only do this after the show, when the figures have been audited.
He said that while “numbers are not important”, he was looking at having at least 300 exhibitors for next year’s show and would like to see the participation of NTOs of the countries of the Gulf, Middle East and North Africa such as Bahrain, Jordan and Syria.
