ABU DHABI – A bigger sellers’ delegation at the Thailand pavilion at GIBTM is a good indicator of its business tourism industry’s bullishness on the Gulf region market. Malinee Kitaphanich, director – meetings & incentives, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, said that market feedback from last year’s participation indicated the strong potential of Gulf countries.
It is Thailand’s second participation at GIBTM, which was launched last year. That time, there were only three sellers. This year there are seven.
Kitaphanich estimated that it will take three to five years for Thailand to become a top-of-mind meetings and incentives destination for the Gulf market.
