CX’s special flights to London on April 11 and 13 fully booked

Daily news, 11 Apr 2008

HONG KONG – Cathay Pacific (CX) announced that the special flights leaving Hong Kong at 1.20 am on 11 April to London and at 1.10 am on 13 April are now fully booked. Seats on the airline's regular scheduled services to both London and Vancouver are also filling up fast.

As at 5.30 pm yesterday, CX had been able to accommodate about 1,530 stranded Oasis passengers on its special and scheduled flights to London, Vancouver and other scheduled European destinations. The two additional flights to London provide a total of some 660 seats and in addition we managed to accommodate another 280 Oasis passengers on our scheduled flights to London, and another 180 through other European routes. Seats were also provided to more than 400 passengers to Vancouver.

Cathay Pacific is the only airline which has arranged special flights at short notice to help stranded Oasis passengers. The one-way fare for Oasis passengers with confirmed bookings and tickets is HK$2,500 (US$ 321), excluding various charges, between Hong Kong and London. The fare also applies on CX’s scheduled flights to London and Vancouver if seats are available.

CX counters located in Aisle D at Hong Kong International Airport have been set aside for the passengers on the special flights. Passengers can also check in online.
