New appointments at Ascott Int’l Thailand

BANGKOK – Ascott International has appointed a new country general manager and director of sales and marketing in Thailand.

Eddie Lim takes over as country GM Thailand, replacing Henry Lim who is now Ascott International’s country GM for Vietnam. Sylvia Tan replaces Jacinta Teo as DOSM Thailand.

Lim, who was previously Ascott International’s country GM in Japan will oversee the whole aspect of management of all Ascott, Somerset and Citadines properties in Thailand including operation, finance, sales and marketing and business development. He has 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He joined The Ascott Group in 1996 and has taken various top-level positions in the company’s operations in Asia including China, Japan, Singapore and Vietnam.

As DOSM, Tan will be responsible for accelerating sales performance and overseeing marketing initiatives for all of Ascott International’s properties in Thailand. These include four existing properties - Ascott Bangkok Sathorn, Citadines Sukhumvit 16, Somerset Lake Point and Somerset Park Suanplu, as well as four new properties opening this year - Somerset Amar Garden and three Citadines properties - Citadines Bangkok Sukhumvit 8, Citadines Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 and Citadines Sukhumvit 23.

With strong background in hospitality sales for almost 15 years, Tan has held prior positions in many leading hospitality companies such as InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Swissotel Merchant Court and Park Royal Serviced Residences.
