Staying power

01 Apr 2008
Anil Mathur

“Service from the heart” has been the backbone of India’s Adventure World (India) Private Limited and Perfect Travels and Tours Private Limited for over 20 years now. The late founder Badri Bajaj got all the help he needed to steadily grow the business from his family. His son and current executive director, Raj Bajaj, shared with Anil Mathur the highs and lows of all these years.

Business philosophy

We believe the most perfect plans need tobe implemented with an equal, if not greater attention to details. Although we belong to the land of karma and fate, we leave nothing to chance.

Making it

With the perfection of services offered by Perfect Travels & Tours Private Limited– set up in 1981 – to its valued clients, good word-of-mouth spread around which resulted in many repeat and recommended clients. Impressed by our professionalism and commitment, in 1985 my father and I were offered a joint venture with Adventure World of Australia and New Zealandand this resulted with him setting up another company, Adventure World India Pvt.Ltd.

Success factors

Our reputation, image and goodwill are very close to our heart and we would never ever allow it to be tarnished. Our team would not do anything that compromise on our 28 years of spotless track record. Reputation of our partners also plays an important role which cannot be replaced and bought and we would never do anything to compromise the integrity and standards of our partners. Most challenging period

It was in 2001 when our founder and my father, Badri Bajaj, passed away in Sydney. We had not yet recovered from this sudden shock when terrorist attacks were made on the World Trade Centre in New York on September 11, 2001 and subsequent terrorist attacks on Indian Parliament on December 13, 2001.

Overcoming the challenge

The vacuum created by the loss of our founder cannot be replaced but the principles, policies and guidelines formulated by him were the sole yardstick for all our team which collectively resolved by gathering strength to adopt and to cherish his unfulfilled tasks and dreams with the inspiration of our current chair, Uma Bajaj. We are proud of the strong organisational culture and service ethos we inculcate in all our team members, who are an asset for our sustained prosperity. Eventhough heavy retrenchments were done in the hospitality sector post 9/11, we sustained all our team members which resulted intrusted loyalty carrying forward till now.

Ultimate goal

Under the agenda of future goals, the group contemplates to further diversify into infrastructure developments with ownership of boutique properties in Jaipurand Agra.
