Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre lights the way

Daily news, 21 Apr 2008

SYDNEY – The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is continuing to light the way in environmental initiatives, replacing all 800 lights in its five exhibition halls with new energy efficient fittings.

The lights are now connected to a digital control system, which provides four lighting levels – 25 percent, 50 percent, 75 percent and 100 percent for the hall space, which spans 25,000 square metres.

The new lighting is the latest in a long line of environmentally friendly initiatives at the Centre, which is the only convention centre in Australia - and one of the first in the world - to receive the international Green Globe benchmarked accreditation for its environmental practices.
