ABU DHABI – Etihad Airways has appointed Tang Hoe Kun as its new country manager for China to help lead the airline’s growing presence in the airline’s newest market.
Tang joins Etihad from Aviation Partner, a general sales agency that he co-owned and which represents foreign airlines in China.
Tang’s nearly 20 years of aviation industry experience began with Singapore Airlines. While there, he was posted to work in Hong Kong, Spain, Portugal, Vietnam and China, where his last position was senior manager marketing for Northern China.
Before starting his own business, Tang was area manager for Eastern and Southern China at Qatar Airways.
Tang will be based in Beijing and will report directly to Joost den Hartog, Etihad’s new regional general manager for the Indian sub-continent, Central and North Asia.
Etihad started services to Beijing on March 30, 2008. It flies four times a week to the Chinese capital.
