MANILA – Cebu Pacific formally launched its Davao hub operations yesterday, May 8, to serve the island of Mindanao in Southern Philippines.
The new hub, CEB’s third after Manila and Cebu, services four domestic and two international destinations, including direct services to Hong Kong and Singapore. Bangkok and Macau are also accessible through connecting flights via Cebu.
CEB is the only airline operating both Davao-Iloilo and Davao-Hong Kong routes and is the only Filipino carrier offering the Davao-Singapore service.
Eduardo Jarque, undersecretary of the Philippines’ Department of Tourism said, “We are very excited about these new flights. This is a significant milestone because it opens up more of our islands to more travelers. This is also a good indicator that our tourism industry is healthy and doing well.”
