Lufthansa to adjust fuel surcharge

FRANKFURT – Due to continued increases in crude oil and kerosene prices, Lufthansa is adjusting its fuel surcharge on all its flights. The fuel surcharge on long-haul routes will be raised by EUR5 (US$7.70) to EUR82 (US$126.35) per flight segment. The fuel surcharge on domestic German and intra-European routes will increase by EUR4 (US$6.16) to EUR21 (US$32.35) euros per flight leg. The increases will apply to all Lufthansa tickets issued on or after May 14, 2008.

Lufthansa last increased its fuel surcharge on European flights on March 13, 2008 by EUR3 to EUR17. The surcharge on long-haul flights was last raised on November 14, 2007 by EUR10 to EUR77.
