ACTE’s cost containment and control methods

Daily news, 16 May 2008

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Attendees at the Association of Corporate Travel Executives' (ACTE) Executive Forum, "Global Trends in Business Travel," held in Stuttgart, Germany on May 8, were given clear directions on navigating the current challenging travel management landscape with new cost containment and control methods.

More than 100 delegates attended the event, with 48 percent of the audience represented by corporate buyers from Fortune 500 companies such as Daimler, BMW, Bayer, BASF and Bosch.

The program addressed the issues of travel distribution and sales, hotel management and contracting, and environmentally-friendly business travel. Post-conference information is available on the ACTE website, www.acte.org.

ACTE’s next conference in Europe will be held in Rome. The Rome Global Education Conference, will take place on October 5-7, 2008. Highlights of the conference include: the global economic outlook, the effect of immigrant populations in Europe, the U.S. war in Iraq and its impact on the world, corporate social responsibility, and the state of the business travel industry.
