Westin Bali goes green

Daily news, 16 May 2008

BALI –In aiming to achieve environmental and social sustainability, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali is pursuing Green Globe certification.

The resort has commenced the first stage of the Green Globe Program, known as benchmarking, which involves measuring annual consumption of water, energy, paper and cleaning products as well as the amount of solid waste the Resort produces. A sustainability policy which outlines the resort’s environmental and social sustainability objectives was also endorsed by the resort’s general manager on April 21, 2008.

Together with Green Globe and assistance from environmental consultant, Georgina von Einem, goals and plans are being made to improve the resort’s environmental performance with the aim of achieving Green Globe certification by December 2009.
