Samui Airport officially opens

BANGKOK – Samui Airport has officially opened its new passenger terminals and a shopping street called “Samui Park Avenue”.

Construction of the new terminal and Samui Park Avenue began in 2005. Upon completion, the new terminal was opened for domestic flights on May 27, 2007. Another phase for international flights became ready on August 31, 2007.

Samui Airport is the first privately-owned airport of Bangkok Airways. More than 40 flights operate in the airport, with most being operated by Bangkok airways.
