June openings - Another month, another slew of new hotels

01 Jul 2008

Grand Tower at Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers

The Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers officially opened its new Grand Tower, touted to herald a new era in luxury worldclass accommodation for Vietnam.

The Sheraton Saigon has now close to 500 rooms which should alleviate the supply side in the city during the busier months of the year. The new Grand Tower’s entry level rooms are a spacious 55 square meters and are a gadget lover’s paradise.

All rooms are equipped with a 42 inch LCD television including a built-in digital video recorder.

Westin Beijing Chaoyang

Westin Beijing Chaoyang was inaugurated on June 21. The 550-room property is the second Westin in Beijing, and its opening reflects the expansion of the Westin brand in China. The property is located in the very heart of Beijing’s Central Business District. This central location offers a convenient retreat for business people and leisure travelers alike.

It is a 25-minute drive from Beijing International Airport and a convenient 15-minute walk to the major malls and bar district.

Ningbo Marriott Hotel

The 333-room Ningbo Marriott Hotel opened in June. The property is located in the heart of the central business district of Ningbo, a beautiful seaport city, within a mixed-used project containing a 38-story

building that houses the hotel and office space. The hotel faces the southern tip of Jiangbei across the Yuyao River, which is now home to a newly-redeveloped historic neighborhood housing trendy restaurants and entertainment spots. With the recent Hangzhou Bay Bridge opening, it is now only 2 ½-hour drive from Ningbo to Shanghai.

Veranda Chiang Mai

Veranda Chiang Mai – The High Resort, a serene luxury spa retreat opened in June. It features just 69 rooms, in four different styles, all with large private balconies and stunning views over the forest, mountain streams, rice and tea terraces. The new resort is sister to the chic and highly successful Veranda Resort Hua Hin, which has become a favourite getaway for Bangkok’s trendsetters.
