Q&A: Jason Peck, SVP, sales & distribution, Furama International

01 Jul 2008

Do you enjoy travelling and where to?

I love travelling, especially to Bali. It’s such a calm place to be at and yet it’s not too far away. And I fit into their culture rather easily since I can speak a little bit of Bahasa now.

If you could choose, which country would you like to reside in?

Definitely Singapore. It’s where I was born and no matter how often and far I travel, I will still choose to come back here where my family is.

Where is your favourite golf course located?

Ria Bintan in Indonesia. I personally feel that it’s one of the best and most beautiful golf courses in South-east Asia.

How did you get into the hospitality industry?

By chance, I would say. I’d been in the tourism industry doing sales when I first started working. I then went on to apply for the position of director of sales for a hotel managed by the Equatorial Group and I got it.

What is your favourite dish?

Xiao Long Bao. It’s just succulent! When do you feel happiest in doing

What you are doing now?

When I clinch a great deal for Furama, like we just did for Bangkok!

What do you always bring with you wherever you go?

My mobile phone. I feel uneasy if I miss a call or if I’m unable to make a call to settle an issue immediately.

When was the last time you had a holiday and where?

I brought my family to Bali a month ago and we stayed at Furama’s very own – FuramaXclusive Villas & Spa Ubud.
