THAI lowers fuel surcharge

Daily news, 28 Oct 2008

BANGKOK - Thai Airways (THAI) has lowered its fuel surcharge on international and domestic flights, effective October 1 onwards.

Pandit Chanapai, THAI’s executive vice president, commercial department, said the cheaper fuel surcharge would encourage more inbound traffic. As some 80 percent of THAI passengers come from overseas, THAI expects to see an increase in number of passengers especially from India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Korea, which comprise THAI’s major markets in the region. The fuel surcharge reduction is up to 30 percent on some routes.
