The ASEAN Hip-Hop Pass is to be relaunched with the inclusion of a Tour Pass in addition to the Air Pass and Hotel Pass components.
The Pass is valid for sale from 15 April 2004 to March 25 next year and can only be purchased in ASEAN. Travel can commence on April 15 this year but must be completed by 31 March 2005.
The ASEAN Tourism Association (ASEANTA) said the initiative is in line with one of its key objectives, which is to be the private-sector driver for intra-ASEAN tourism growth.
The re-launch of the Pass aims to promote intra-ASEAN tourism traffic and to get ASEAN residents visiting more than one ASEAN country for their holidays
This Pass comprises three components. The Air Pass will be sold at US$399 (excluding applicable taxes) for a minimum of three flight coupons. This will enable ASEAN tourists to visit at least two ASEAN destinations.
For tourists who wish to visit more than two ASEAN cities, they can purchase additional flight coupons at US$150 each. However, the maximum number of flight coupons for each Air Pass cannot exceed a maximum of six.
The ASEAN airlines participating in this promotion are Garuda Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Myanmar Airways, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, Thai Airways and Vietnam Airlines.
The hotel component of the ASEAN Hip-Hop Pass rates will be US$35, US$50 and US$70 for three, four and five-star hotels respectively.
“It is not just the airlines and hotels that are involved in the ASEAN Hip-Hop Pass but travel agents via the Tour Pass component are also providing sweeteners in the form of discounted airport-hotel-airport ground transfers and half-day city tours for holders of the ASEAN Hip-Hop Pass,” a release from ASENTA said.
