Condé Nast Traveler convenes World Leaders, Global Business Executives and Non-Profit Visionaries at the prestigious World Savers Congress

Conference hosted outside of the U.S. for the second time to focus international attention on social responsibility and environmental issues.

World leaders, environmental visionaries and global business executives from the travel industry and beyond will meet in Singapore in October, when the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Congress will be held outside the United States for the second year running. The event will be held at the luxury resort Capella Singapore, on the 20th of October, and will focus on the importance of global social responsibility through the lens of travel, and will honour those individuals and corporations working to improve the health, education and economic well-being of their communities. Previous World Savers Congresses featured a range of high profile speakers including Prime Minister Tony Blair, Sir Richard Branson, Queen Rania of Jordan, actors Matt Damon and Ed Norton, musician Wyclef Jean, and the actress and activist Ashley Judd.

This year’s World Savers Congress will also feature a powerful international speaker line-up and is expected to attract an audience of more than 250 CEOs and senior executives from across the global and regional travel industry. Some of the confirmed keynote speakers and panellists include:

Winners of the 2011 Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Awards will also be honoured at the congress. These are travel companies from around the world hailed for their leadership in five key areas of social responsibilities: education, environmental preservation, health, poverty relief, and wildlife conservation.

The 2011 Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Congress, Singapore, features a live “Singapore Session” in association with the Singapore Economic Development Board. Leading experts from diverse fields will discuss and debate sustainable development in a compelling panel discussion, “Conceiving the Cities of Tomorrow,” moderated by a Condé Nast Traveler editor. The fifth Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Congress is also supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and will occur during TravelRave, Asia’s mega travel and tourism festival, showcasing world-class business events for tourism leaders and professionals from the travel eco-system to maximise business opportunities, share insights and best practices.
