Hong Kong :Crystal Cruises, the much awarded ultra-luxe cruise line, will enhance its culinary offering through a number of new and exciting experiences this year.
Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will travel aboard Crystal Serenity on the “Bordeaux and Beyond” cruise which departs from London/Dover on May 24th. He will be in attendance daily at his on-board Silk Road and Sushi Bar, where he will personally prepare dishes and mingle with guests during a 12-day western European/Mediterranean voyage.
In addition to making nightly appearances, Nobu will oversee a special “Omakase” dinner, with sake and sake champagne pairings chosen by Sake Master, Fumio Hazu. There will also be a hands-on cooking class in Crystal’s kitchen for 10-12 guests as well as a cooking demonstration for all guests. Chef Nobu will be signing copies of his Vegetarian Cookbook and “NOBU the Cookbook” throughout the trip.
The cruise offers great opportunities for guests to meet this iconic culinary master, have their photographs taken with him and pick up some tips on his Japanese/Peruvian cooking along the way!
Another famous chef, Heinz Beck, of Rome’s three Michelin Star La Pergola, will team up with Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim, and Master Sommelier Bob Bath to host tastings and demonstrations during the wine and food-themed cruise. A seven-course “Ultimate Vintage Room Dinner” prepared by Beck and Bath will feature impossible-to-purchase fine wines and an event that will cost around US$1,000/person.
The cruise starts at Dover, travelling to Bordeaux/Bassens (overnight), Lisbon, Gibraltar, Monte Carlo (overnight), Florence/Livorno, Porto Venere, and Rome/Civitavecchia. Fares for the 12-day cruise start at US$3,955/person for double occupancy, including US$1,000/person in “Book Now” savings (until February 28th).
