PHUKET:  Trisara, an exclusive Resort & Spa in Phuket, has taken the top honours for Best Small Hotel/Resort Under 100 rooms and for Best Resort in South East Asia – given out in the  Gallivanter’s Awards for Excellence 2011 from  travel lexicon, the Gallivanter’s Guide©.  Trisara (in Sanskrit meaning the "Third Garden in Heaven) was also a close runner-up for Best Leisure Resort Worldwide.

The Gallivanter’s Guide© ,established in 1991,sets the benchmarks for high end travellers. Greatly respected by top journalists, travelers, hoteliers and travel advisors, the publication takes no advertising and employs no journalists.  The editors, Middlehurst and Maslin personally do all the reviews and this is restricted to only the best hotels and resorts in the world.

Its 2011 Awards for Excellence is the 21st annual readers’ poll and is a guide to the world’s greatest hotels divided up by category.

"We are extremely honoured to have been recognized, particularly by our guests who are readers of the Gallivanter’s Guide©” commented Anthony Lark, executive director and general manager of Trisara. "To win these prestigious awards from such a select field highlights the hard work and dedication our entire team puts in, day in day out, to make Trisara the best resort of its kind. Trisara is a very special place to visit, and a very special place to work."

Nestled over its own private bay, just 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport, the resort is hidden amongst lush tropical jungle, with 39 hotel villas, all with private pools, dramatic sea views offering great privacy. There are also 18 larger residences, comprising two to five bedrooms, with private kitchens, 20 metre pools and dedicated cooks and staff who provide impeccable Thai hospitality.
