Peter Hildebrand has been appointed the General Manager of W Hong Kong. As a leader in the hotel business, Peter is determined to further advance the W brand in Hong Kong and to align the hotel to the needs of the local and international communities it serves.
With more than 2 decades of hospitality experience, Peter Hildebrand has worked in many key cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, where he had the great opportunity to become part of the local scene, understanding the local cultures as well picking up a smattering of Cantonese and Mandarin along the way. Peter started his career as a Corporate Management Trainee with Hyatt Group in Hong Kong in 1989 and developed his responsibility within Sales & Marketing. In 1998, Peter joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts as Director of Marketing and Business Development at Sheraton Towers Singapore. After continuing his hospitality career in Hyatt Group for another 9 years, Peter rejoined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2010, commencing his first General Manager appointment at the Westin Fuzhou Hotel, where he led his team to introduce the Westin brand in China’s Fujian province and to successfully open the hotel.

The hotel team is passionate about surprising and delighting our guests, so my aim is to further strengthen the hotel’s appeal through stimulating and expanding the team’s creativity and versatility. We must also work with the right partners to reach out and integrate the energy and vitality of the W brand into the lives of those in this community that share our passion for design, music and fashion” said Peter. “Hong Kong is one of the most exciting cities in the world and it has always been my personal favorite. We will continue to seek out new ways to deliver the W brand experience in order to match the pace of this fast changing city.”
Prior to his career, Peter, an Australian, earned a bachelor degree of Economics at University of Queensland and a master degree of Business Administration at Rutgers University.
